I would say it's a coin flip, but I haven't watched enough of either team to have a feel for which one is really the better team. For selfish reasons I'll pull for Vandy to help LSU's RPI...
UGA beats Auburn 3-2 and eliminates Auburn not only from the SEC Tournament, but knocks them down to .500 for the season and eliminates their NCAA Tournament eligibility. Georgia with their first win still has to get two more wins before they lose a game or they too will lose their NCAA Tournament eligibility.
I'm actually glad LSU isn't in the SEC tourney. I'm enjoying the games with no pressure and our players are resting.
I hear you, it's a little different but I'm still enjoying it. Great pitcher's duel between South Carolina and Vandy until the top of the 9th. Man, the wheels just fell off for South Carolina! Vandy up 7-2 going into the bottom of the 9th. Arkansas 7 - Mississippi State 2, MSU is done Auburn 2 - Georgia 3, details were talked about already Alabama 0 - Florida 6 South Carolina 2 - Vandy 7 Arkansas and Alabama will play an elimination game at 3 on Friday Georgia and South Carolina will play an elimination game around 6:30 on Friday Vanderbilt and Florida have Friday off
Question for anyone - what would you estimate the percentages to be that LSU gets selected for postseason play? I see that they're actually ranked in the top 25 despite not making the SEC tourney. Surely they would be considered for an at large bid right?
Conservatively, I would say the chances of LSU getting into the NCAA Tournament are 100%. I guess I'm just pessimistic by nature, but I really don't think "if" is even part of the conversation...
Ah thanks man. I haven't followed them much this season, and was curious. I'll tune into the selection show then.
