SEC Tournament: 2011 Baseball Tournament Scroll to the bottom to see TV schedule and a live audio link Most games that are on CSS will also be on CST, does not look like they will be blacked out on espn3.com When games are on SPSO, espn3.com will be blacked out, but Fox Sports South is also supposed to have streaming video ------------------------------------------------------ Final SEC regular season standings and SEC tournament seedings 1) South Carolina: 22-8, first place by tiebreaker 2) Arkansas: 15-15, #2 seed as SEC West winner 3) Florida: 22-8, Won tiebreaker over Vandy 4) Vanderbilt: 22-8 5) Georgia: 16-14, 28-28 overall. Which, conveniently, is Georgia. Also known as the team that can do us a favor by not winning 3 games. Somewhat nifty how that works out.
And will likely play AU in the elimination game right after that one. In that case we would pull for UGA and then hope they lose before winning 2 more.
so there were five tied for the west going into the last game. tied for first or second to last, depending on how you look at it. they said if arkansas won their last game they would win the west otherwise they were out. so what happened.
Records before the last series started were: Alabama: 13-14 Arkansas: 13-14 Auburn: 13-14 Mississippi State: 13-14 Ole Miss: 12-15 MSU lost 2 of 3, Auburn lost 2 of 3, and Bama lost 2 of 3. If Ole Miss had won, the 5 way tie breaker of best winning % between common opponents would have left Arkansas out of the mix. If LSU had been in the tiebreaker with a sweep of MSU, we would have been at the bottom of the pile with our 0-3 record against Arkansas included. The do or die game made Arkansas - Ole Miss fun to follow. Ole Miss came up short on a couple of questionable calls at Arkansas' house, what are the odds... Anyway the tiebreaker system is pretty simple, but if a lot of teams are in the mix it can make a big difference if one of the teams that swept a series is included. For Arkansas they would have been 1-2 in 3 of the 4 series.
Wednesday SEC Tourney Scores: Alabama 7 - Arkansas 4 Mississippi State 5 - Florida 7, Florida was down 5-2 in the bottom of the 7th, but a grand slam kind of changed that up. Auburn 3 - South Carolina 7 If Auburn loses Thursday to the loser of Georgia - Vanderbilt, Auburn will drop to .500 overall and will not be eligible for the NCAA tournament
Well AU and UGA meet tomorrow, so one of them is guaranteed to not make the NCAAT. Good for LSU! :geauxtige
