[ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southeastern_Conference]Southeastern Conference - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame] WTH? Haven't heard this reported anywhere? Could this information be misleading? opcorn:
Wishful thinking on the ACC's part. I do think the SEC should secede from the NCAA and take some other southern teams with them (UNC, Ga Tech, Miami, FSU, TA&M) and form their own inter collegiate athletic association, sign their own TV contracts, and have Pay for Play in the by laws. Make PFP above board and a hallmark of our league. Have our own playoffs and national championship. Then play the NCAA chumps, er champs in a collegiate super bowl. I know this is "out the box" thought, but if no one thought outside the box then there would have been no AFL and no Super Bowl ! Why not do this ? Comfort zones are for the timid !!!
First thought....NCAA would refuse to play the game against anyone who opposed their almighty kingdom.
Let me get this straight. You just happened to be browsing Wikipedia on the SEC and just happened to come across this?
Exactly. I was looking up some information for a friend of mine (Texas A&M fan) and I noticed that at the bottom. I had to read it 5 times to ensure that I read it correctly...
The NCAA would not allow any conference to have an 8 team playoff for their championship. That rumor is definitely bogus.
