WOW! Just WOW!!! No one is doubting his schedule or lack of. I am only saying give a bit of credit to a team that DOESN'T play the teams the SEC does and just gave it their all and didn't do too bad a job at it! The kid is good on top of that and will get another year at playing college before he tries his hand at the NFL. IF he does well there I hope you give him the needed props there...or will you say he isn't on the best team so doesn't deserve them there either??? Just curious?
No, playing on an so so team has nothing to do with it . Its all about the level of competition you play against. By saying that Smith is a good RB because he is great but played poor competition is like saying OSU is great but played poor competition. I refuse to believe that OSU is that good. You guys must have been on the BC, USF, KU, MU bandwagon the entire season because the media said that they all had "great players" and were the real deal. Please. Anyway i'm done fighting with my fellow Tiger Fans, i'll save it for the Suckeye fans. OUT:geauxtige :crystal:
No I wasn't, my only point AGAIN was that if these teams were to play an SEC team and hold their own then I would say the same thing about their players or the certain ones of them that seem to be breaking or coming close to breaking all NCAA records! No reason to run....I am the biggest wimp on the board!
Dude, not trying to "Fight" but if you are basing your argument on his playing in C- USA, that's weak. Do you realize how many great players have come from conference USA? Nonetheless, one who just set an NFL record today- Randy Moss. Throw in Brett Favre, here's a look at all of the C-USA players on opening day NFL rosters last year. They (C-USA) had the most (5) starting QB's in the NFL last year. EAST CAROLINA Rod Coleman DT Atlanta Falcons Terrance Copper WR New Orleans Saints David Garrard QB Jacksonville Jaguars Vonta Leach FB Green Bay Packers Brian Rimpf OT Baltimore Ravens Guy Whimper OT New York Giants HOUSTON Rex Hadnot OG Miami Dolphins Hanik Milligan FS Arizona Cardinals Stanford Routt CB Oakland Raiders MARSHALL Mike Bartrum TE Philadelphia Eagles Troy Brown WR New England Patriots Chris Crocker FS Atlanta Falcons Johnathan Goddard DE Indianapolis Colts Chris Hanson P Jacksonville Jaguars Byron Leftwich QB Jacksonville Jaguars Chris Massey LS St. Louis Rams Randy Moss WR Oakland Raiders Chad PenningtonQB New York Jets John Wade C Tampa Bay Buccaneers Butchie Wallace RB Atlanta Falcons MEMPHIS Idrees Bashir FS Detroit Lions Marcus Bell DT Detroit Lions Tony Brown DT Carolina Panthers Isaac Bruce WR St. Louis Rams Stephen Gostkowski K New England Patriots Artis Hicks OT Minnesota Vikings Reggie Howard DB Carolina Panthers Mike McKenzie DB New Orleans Saints Wade Smith OT Miami Dolphins DeAngelo Williams RB Carolina Panthers Tony Williams DT Jacksonville Jaguars RICE Patrick Dendy S Green Bay Packers Brandon Green DE St. Louis Rams Larry Izzo LB New England Patriots N.D. I don't know what posseses me to do this, but I find myself wanting to take up for Geaux Army. No, I don't think he is RIGHT about KS...but I DO understand what he's saying about him being "Ron Dayne". What he means is this---Ron Dayne was extremely overhyped while at Wisconsin, and widely regarded as the next best running back to enter the NFL. As anyone can plainly see, Ron Dayne was overrated...didn't come close to living up to expectations/HYPE. Geaux Army is simply saying that, in HIS opinion, KS is the same thing...extremely hyped, yet overrated...won't live up to expectations/hype.:thumb: Like I said...I don't exactly agree with that...but I haven't watched enough of him to tell for sure. I just wanted ya'll to understand why he compared Dayne to Smith...it had nothing to do with stature or style. Reading comprehension class dismissed.
Congrats to Croom and his crew. A Win is a Win is a Win. I enjoyed hearing the announcers talk about the speed of the Moo State defensive players in pursuit. I'm with Coach Croom on the style points issue. The record book has room only for one letter, and a W is better than an L every time.ldskule:
I remember some guy who played hs ball in Columbia, Ms and then at some small "black" college...........not worth a darn..highly overated....what was his name? Walter something....seems like he was a sissy...they called him "Sweetness." You remind me of a guy who got real loud and laughed at you when he won a hand in Poker....but bitched, moaned, and cried when he came in second best.:thumb:
