There was actually another bar in WF that claimed the same thing, I forget the name. Everyone in WF has a favorite that they say was the original creator. Seems like decent odds that it was created in WF though. There was a whole story about how it was done, I just can't remember the details.
I used to keep my camper in a little camp ground down towards Cocodrie year round before I got my camp. There was a guy who had a camper in the lot who was from somewhere in Minnesota. He drank what he called bloody beer all the damn time. It was miller lite and tomato juice. This guy was ancient, and had played in the NHL in the 50s. He said the Canadians introduced it to him.
