The man who shot the infamous Gregg Williams pre-game pep talk has gone to the keyboard again. Its a very lengthy blog, and I'll link to it at the bottom, but I'll tell you what jumped out at me: For the first time that I've seen, he says immediately following the talk, GW handed out envelopes, presumably p4p payouts. But in Pamphilon's judgement, only one payment was for a "knockout" hit, the rest were performance payments, like turnovers. Players immediately began chanting "give it back!", which he interprets to mean, let the payments roll over into a bigger pot. The majority of the blog is an indictment of two people, Scott Fujita.........and Drew Brees. Fujita, he reveals, was sitting next to Steve Gleason throughout the GW speech, in the room on invite from Sean Payton. He was 'stunned' by the speech, and acts contrite that "I can't believe that was me once." He then offers a running dialogue of how he, Fujita and Brees discussed, over several weeks, whether or not to release the tape. Apparently Fujita wanted it to be released because of its ramnifications of how little attention there is to player safety. The impression I get is that Brees wanted it to be released because it could possibly scapegoat Williams as the sole perpetrator of "Bountygate." Pamphilon, as usual, constantly segues into dealings with his "United States of Football" project, and paints Brees as being very untrustworthy due to a misunderstanding involving release documents with that project. Fujita, however, is portrayed as a standup guy who stood by his convictions on releasing the tapes....until they are actually released. Then he stabbed Pamphilon in the back with his "I know nothing" press conference. There's also a lot of paranoia, as if he believes Williams might put a bounty on his head if the tapes were released. Anyway, here's the link. All in all, I find it a very self-serving tale from a guy who seems to think he is saving the NFL from itself. I'm reminded of an old George Carlin routine where he suggested substituting the word "fuck' for the word "kill" in old movie cliches. I'm thinking Pamphilon needs to substitute the word 'blog', as in,"Stop me before I blog again." http://seanpamphilon.com/2012/05/31/when-you-kill-the-head-the-body-doesnt-die/
