Rivals also has us a stronger #7. I am well satisfied with the recruiting class that Miles brought in this year in spite of LA's bad mojo after the two hurricanes. As always, there were a couple of near misses with some out-of-state 5* players but if the early recruiting forecasts are accurate, LA is due for a bumper crop of Div. 1A recruits in 2007 and Miles apparently got signed LOIs from every LA prospect offered this year. :thumb: It's a great time to be a Tiger fan.:geauxtige Is anyone else excited to see Pat Hill (coach at Fresno State) and his big mouth come to TS next year? :angryfire I guess we weren't scared to play them after all.
hes a good coach and thats a good team....i am glad we are playing them...i am especially biased though and really cant see them sticking with us....they havnt ever been to a place like tiger stadium and its gonna be rocking that night....i hope he knows what hes getting him and his team into.
I know you guys wouldnt have liked it but i wouldnt have minded a home and home. Fresno is just an hour or so from San Jose . If i had my way LSU would rotate playing all the Pac 10 teams on the west coast on a rotating basis for Home and Homes. USC, UCLA , Stanford , California , Oregon St. , Oregon , Wash. , Wash St. Give us West Coast Tiger Fans a chance to see Tigers kick some Pac 10 butt. Stanford is completely redoing their Stadium and could use a big gate game against a big time SEC program. Cal's Stadium is right on the Hayward fault line and they are thinking in the next decent type quake that is where it will be. Going to be making a decision on what to do for them in the near future i think. How about you Bayareatiger could you see LSU coming to play a game in the bay area and going to see it.
We got the players we got. What people rank our class doesn't affect that. I'm very pleased with this class. The only thing I think we missed out on was Reshad Jones, but we kept LaRon Landry from going to the draft which isn't shown in these rankings. Maybe we can get a big time safety in next year's class.
i think giddens will play safety and he can fly. He ran an electronically timed 4.32. Next year is a great year for safeties in Louisiana, you have Steffond Francois- 6'2", 205, 4.4, East ST John; he is good friends with RP and Dixon and we should get him. he plays all over for ESJ right now though. Chad Jones- 6'2", 210, 4.5, Southern Lab; Al jones lil brother so we should be in great shape. John Williams- 5'10", 190, 4.45, Breaux Bridge; DD lil cousin. SHould come here not sure if he will play safety though. Maybe if he gains a little weight. Safety and DE are gonna be banner years in LA next year.
Tell that to USC, Oregon and K-State....just to name a few. Sure, K-State isn't the top 10 team that it used to be (then again, even their top 10 teams played nothing but cupcakes), but Fresno State still won. They also lost to Oregon by 3 (37-34) at Autzen--which, I know we will all laugh at them (Oregon) for considering themselves to have some stake at being a tough place to visit, but that's what most publications say as well.... Then, they really SHOULD have beat USC--but the bottom line is that they really played well beyond the challenge. This Fresno State team is scary for any prominent team to play. You don't get a whole lot of love for beating them, but Fresno gets ALL the publicity if they pull off the "W" against you. And they have proven to back up Pat Hill's words of "anyone...anyplace". They come to play. We had better be ready.
It also appears that ESPN has moved our class up to #8. 'Bout time they wake up from that load of bricks that had to be dropped on them...
