Did you guess which thing was not like the others?
Did you guess which thing just doesn't belong?
If you guessed this one is not like the others,
    Then you're absolutely...right!

Everyone's favorite place is the place that they call home. Being a Ragin' Cajun fan, I go there and watch game with butterflies in my stomach because I want my boys to defend our house. What makes the quote from STP unique is what he said about being an outsider who was no invested in the game and he still was in awe. That says something.

a little history lesson for you. Back when Johnny Vaught was head coach at Ole Miss they did not have lights in their stadium so they played a home and home with LSU because they wanted to play at night. So Ole Miss actually hosted the tigers as the home team in tiger stadium. I'm not really sure what year somewhere in the 60's I beleive.

i agree with all this, but i still dont think it affects the outcome of games any more than other similar stadiums.

just like that stupid earthquake game reference (van pelt gets huge respect from not bringing it up). any similar sized stadium that close to a seismograph will do the same.

Why do you feel you must shoot down some terrific LSU lore?

Since I was a freshman in '88, that was BY FAR the pinnacle of my college football experience at LSU. Nothing else came close until we beat AU in the Bring Back the Magic Game in '95, and the funniest thing about that is my stupid ex-husband almost got himself arrested while he was rushing the field. I think he managed to kiss Nicky Savoie before the cop tackled him, though.

I was gonna say he's a wet blanket but he's closer to a dry condom. Insufferable.

There is a special thing about playing at Tiger stadium. Having been there for some outstanding games and seeing the crowd truly effect the game is something that has no equal. I remember being there when Bert Jones passed to Brad Davis with no time left, when we pounded ND 28-7 there was a goal line stand that shook the windows of the Middleton library. When we were robbed by the zebras and lost to USCw (starting backfield Charles White & Marcus Allen) and they commented that after playing in Tiger Stadium ND was child's play. The Orange bowl (the winner went)game where we beat FSU and oranges rained down as we won. the earthquake ame, beating Spurrier's #1 gators, the Georgia game when after Ga went ahead the crowd got louder, the 2007 Fl game (maybe the best played college FB game I have ever seen) and so many more down to last Sat.
Tiger stadium is special and mystical and for 3 generations the fans and team have made it so.
