Re: Runningbacks Sports radio here in Atlanta was throwing it a different spin. They were saying that WE were the "beatable" team for UGA! The host went so far as to break down UGA's next 4 games and said UGA COULD BE 5-1 after our game! He said we looked awful in our first two games but here's the kicker...he failed to mention UGA's struggles against an Okie St team that Houston demolished and then allowed a South Carolina team that struggled to score more than once against NC St but threw up 31 against the Dawgs.... But back to the FB topic.... Read Miles said Ridley would be the next back in line to get playing time behind Scott, Keiland and Trindon. So evidently Ridley is physically ready. Also said that Ford is having trouble with playbook right now. I assume D. Allen is also having trouble because he's a physical looking specimen at the FB position and built like Quinn Johnson...
Re: Runningbacks Very selfless, but maybe he shouldn't have lost all of that weight if he wanted to play FB. :hihi:
I think this is a great idea, and it's going to work out for Scott in the end, too, because his NFL future is being a versatile FB that can provide some spot HB duties. That is exactly how the Chargers are using Hester. I read an article recently that he gained 8 lbs of muscle in the off season to be a bit better blocker but Hester said that the days of the road grader fullback who couldn't run or catch were going away in the NFL. They wanted a fullback who could block adequately but also run & catch like Hester and probably Scott. Geaux Tigers!
well, we'll probably see JL in that situation. i'm cool w/that, but i do agree that shepard needs to be on the field more than a play or two. just to keep defenses honest. but for CLM to simply play shepard is wish come true. getting him more involved is probably not likely to happen, unfortunately.
Re: Runningbacks Works for me. Scott has been all for it so far, and it has had great results when it's been used in the first 2 games. I think that Scott is more than capable and if he's fine with it, I'm thrilled about it. I wish we'd run some splitback shotgun sets and run some trip option. It'd be very similar to what WVU was running with Pat White, Steve Slaton and Owen Schmitt. But I think Scott and Williams in the same backfield for an extended period of time would wear a defense very thin. It would also allow for easier rotation of Trindon Holliday, since he'd only have to leapfrog one tailback on the depth chart instead of 2.
