I think it's a great strategy to move Scott to FB for the most part with Williams at TB. We can slam Scott up the middle with the front 7 having to defend Williams out wide as a possibility. That will give Scott a much better shot at succeeding. And Williams will get his well deserved touches.

not to mention scott is a pretty good decoy on that fake fullback inside then pitch to the tailback play. This play is going to go for big yards at some point this season.

oh cool, Charles Scott agrees with me:

“I told Miles to keep me at fullback; I wanted Keiland to get the touches,” Scott said. “When I got in at fullback, [Vanderbilt] would scream ‘32’. If I pull and we can pitch to Keiland and can score, then let’s keep doing it.”

I can already tell you the offense will look much improved just by this simple tweak. Well maybe not a simple tweak. The passing game should be that much more effective. Let's get Jefferson playing really well and then we can compete at Georgia and take on Florida to the best of our abilities.

I think this is a great idea, and it's going to work out for Scott in the end, too, because his NFL future is being a versatile FB that can provide some spot HB duties.

So far Dugas has trouble getting out of his own way. More often than not he is plugging the hole instead of creating one. Scott may not be a true fullback but he may be our best choice at this point. Seems like Miles should be able to get a true fullback that pans out. He's recruited a few but having to convert an O-lineman that is too big and slow means the new guys aren't ready to step in. Scott also gives another receiving and running option, something Dugas definitely does not.

I'm not looking to compete with UGA and just take on Florida to the best of our abilities, I'm looking to BEAT Georgia and BEAT Florida. We've got the athletes, everything else just needs to fall into place.

    Re: Runningbacks

Well that will be up the coaching staff to get that done.

The first two weeks does not equate to beating Georgia and Florida, and I am sure you would agree with that.

This is a great step towards that end. LSU needs to put the very best people out on that field.

If we see Shepard get 15-20 touches vs UL, then look out. The offense will be that 45 ppg juggernaut I predicated at the beginning of the season.

Last piece of the puzzle (besides the O-line gelling which I think they will in the next 2 weeks) is getting Dickson involved in the offense. The middle of the field HAS to be open. We need to get him the ball and keep the safeties and linebackers honest.

Agreed on all points. I just don't want us to set our sights too low. Georgia is very beatable, and we won't know how good Florida really is until they play real competition.

Oh, believe me, I am driving that bus that you speak of. I wanna punch the gas as much as anyone.

I just don't feel warm and fuzzy that the coaching staff is on board with our itinerary.
