    Re: Runningbacks

I guess the concern is that Dugas isn't fast enough through the hole and doesn't keep his feet? I dunno. I DO know that LSU has had a string of very good FBs for a while and Allen had a shot to play this year - appears he's just not ready.

I think Scott can play FB - he just isn't the battering ram that QJ was. I'm not sure I miss anyone from last year more than QJ - maybe Big Herm.

dugas will never cut it. stampley played well in the spring but he's hurt right now. when he's healthy he'll be back at fb and he'll do better than dugas.

we also need to get ridley in at fb.

I don't know about that. Seems like I heard a lot about how impressive he looked at camp. And I would never expect Miles to come out and announce to the world that Ford would play.

I like Scott at FB, if he must play there some, for this reason: he gives the defense something else to think about. He played FB a little last season and when we gave him a quick hitting handoff up the gut, he got 5-6 yards. If he gets through the line and to the LB's, he gets a big gain. He also is a good receiver, which Quinn Johnson was not. I think having him as a viable running/receiving threat at FB can only help our offense.

I don't know either. But I've heard/read in other places that he's not exactly impressive when the whistle blows right now. I think the word shellshocked may be appropriate for what I'm hearing. Of course, that could all be total BS and maybe he's a monster.

Thing is - Miles doesn't hold back praise when it's warranted. I haven't heard Ford's name at all.

I have always seen scott as the FB type. I like it. Him + Key = good things...

And to think people around here say this team has no leadership!

Scott is a fantastic person and player. There is no doubt from what we all have seen and read about him. I think he is a great college TB, but depending upon his combine times this season, his size and speed may make him a better Pro FB than TB?

I don't recall hearing that THIS year. LAST year, yes. I do recall seeing some posts HOPING leaders would step up this year, and CS was at the top of everyone's list as "most likely to lead".
