Scott Long is a nobody who inherited a popular LSU blog, riding his fathers coattails of hard work and connections the guy made.
Scott Long together with his dad (Not his dad alone) started the blog. I knew Don Long well as me & my dad used to pass along recruiting info to Don Long and Scott would assimilate this info into daily column. To say Scott is a nobody just ain’t true ... Don would never have started the column if not for Scott ... And most know nothings in here (like Jesse Hernandez & minions, etc) even bashed Don Long as an LSU homer while he was alive ... Fact is that it’s the best source of daily LSU FB info along with the Advocate & great articles are always linked in ... Scott makes sure of that ... Plus, it does not suffer from the extent of negativity found in many forums! Scott did inherit the respect and friendship of his dad’s friends who continue to support & provide valuable scraps of information regarding recruiting & all other matters related to LSU FB ... Sad the butthurt egos in here can’t admit they were wrong ... Etling did make the pros & gained the respect of his coach ... His pro career isn’t over ... Mark it !!!
I don't doubt that Don might've opened his blog with Scott's help and pushing. But what DandyDon became in terms of LSU sports news and insights came from Don not Scott. It was all Don and the respect he earned from friends and contacts, and without the "support and valuable scraps of information regarding recruiting & all other matters related to LSU FB", as you put it, Scott's inherited LSU blog would be dead.
