it's not about trust....this is an internet forum where we talk about things like new coaches, and stuff like that
I don’t even try anymore. Not worth my time with someone who has a one-sided view and cannot appreciate any other opinion in any shape or form.
Well my "one sided view" of last years coaches and coaching seemed to work out OK. Y'all slammed E, O, Cregg and even CEH. I trusted O last year and nothing he has done has diminished that. Once again y'all haven't seen this guy coach one down at LSU and he is now the new whipping boy. Funny how I am reading "well we still have E so that's reassuring" on this thread. Thought E was the worst coach on staff last year? What happened? Well I was right about E and a lot of you are eating crow.
Not exactly and REALLY not exactly, but here we go again. I really do not think I can do another off season of this
That's 3 out of 60. Just because minger has JBs playbook means he knows when to call them or how to adjust. The other side has seen alot and I dont believe the guy coming in is nearly as dynamic as Brady. Not even gonna try to compare Brennan to Burrow. Put all those together and I think the offense takes a significant step back, like circa 2016/18 (minus Kakas fav OT game). I dont expect 2019 to repeat but something in the top 20 doesnt seem reachable with this duo.
O said the guy who stayed was the MVP, not the award winning guy who left. Not really an impartial statement. What y’all are saying is right, pretty good hire for offensive assistant. But he’s not innovative at face value, which is what we were all hoping for. I said before that O has earned the right to choose his guy, but this feels more like Sullivan than Brady, insomuch that Brady now looks like the outlier. We’ll see.
Kiki, This is a discussion board. I certainly think its ridiculous to start panicking about this hire; on the other hand, I certainly think there is room to question it. The man does have a lot of experience, and some success, but, I've never heard the words "offensive genius" and Lindman in the same sentence. Outside of the coaching staff and some athletic department personnel, no one knows for sure what the respective roles of Brady and E were. We don't know how much E contributed. Perhaps he was the rock upon which Brady had his success; perhaps Brady pulled his chestnuts out of the fire. I do agree, O should be given the benefit of the doubt, but if no one ever questioned his decisions, this would be a very dull, and quiet, board.
He also knows a hell of a lot more about the roles of Ensminger and Brady than the folks who select the Broyles award did. Think I’ll trust him over them.
TBH keeping E as coordinator was confusing to many of us. In the interim it didn't seem like he lit it up, so most, including me, assumed from that small sample size we would only get the same. WE WERE WRONG, Couch O was not. There is some serious melting going on here, and you guys need to act like you have been here before. It will be ok. Worst case scenario he is a Canada, and its a 1 and done. Best case scenario we are in the championship hunt again.
