Then wny to I have to show one when the commissioners at the poll I vote are life-long friends. One works for me and another has a daughter-in-law who does. Talk about stupid on the other end of the spectrum. And it's not just me. Most of the people in our Parish polls know a huge percentage of the people who vote there but still require and ID. No doubt. The example I use is that in a large group, I'd end up with former athletes/coaches or outdoorsmen. But even within races there is "racism". Let a white person walk out on the beach with snow white skin or a black person be real dark. They're laughed at within each race.
Personally I don't have an issue with being carded, but they need to make it easier for those who don't have the resources to get an ID. And if the democrats were smart, they would start facilitating this along with registering new voters. But I think Federal elections should be across the board. And states should have no say in the way federal elections are carried out. Again I cite Rick Perry making it legal to use a concealed handgun license (not hunting license like I said before, my bad) to vote but not a student ID. If voter fraud was a huge issue I wouldn't have a problem with them wasting time on this crap legislation. It's not just stupid shit like this though, government republican and democrat have serious problems wasting our tax money on bullshit designed to help them stay in office and their friends get rich.
I agree. If they mandate ID they need to do it well in advance to be fair. I was also going to agree on the student ID but don't forget that not every student is a US citizen.
I agree. That 's the main thing: allow people plenty of time to get the required ID and make them accessible and not hidden behind a pile of red tape.
I can't think of any reason to not have an id. You have to show one at hospital, cash checks at the bank. Pay for medications. Buy alcohol, etc etc... No reason not to show it to poll worker when you vote.
The proportion of black males populating our prisons strongly disagrees with you. So, what? How is this an injustice? Black people were shipped to America against their will, forced into servitude, freed, then not allowed to acculturate during reconstruction, then systematically discriminated against by the likes of Woodrow Wilson & Hoover, then legally & openly opressed, forced into shitty housing housing developments into shitty areas of cities, and then, when they finally started to catch-up with whites in terms of standardized test scores & mortality rates, crack happened and undid all of the progress that they had made. Yet you claim that it's unfair that they have their own channels, magazines, history month, etc. Yeah, blacks get eeeeverything. I suppose it's easy to view black people as a race that can't get it's shit together if you just ignore their history. Yeah, that's ALL white people have.
Yep. A troll that lives around a bunch of fucking democrats. The first and fifteenth is a holiday around here. I don't give a shit how blacks were treated before I was born. Irish were treated like shit. Jews like shit. Indians like shit. The slaves were sold to traders by their fellow country men. It's not like blacks were the only slaves. Just about every country in the world had slaves at one time, some still do. The only thing holding anybody back in this country is themselves and the government.
Of course, you don't. Complete disregard for history is what makes you ignorant, friend. So, what? Slavery was only the beginning, but I don't expect you to acknowledge that. And lol at using Indians as a point of comparison...y'know, because everything worked out so great for them... Then why are you bitching about BET?
