College football Fisher arrested again, charged with driving on suspended license By GREG AUMAN, Times Staff Writer Published February 5, 2005 TAMPA - USF LOSES PRIZED RECRUIT: USF hoped to bolster its recruiting class adding coveted defensive end Ricky Jean-Francois of Miami Carol City, but Francois appears to be headed to LSU. "He came into my office and asked for his scholarship papers for LSU," Carol City coach Frazier said. "He said he was going to sign with LSU (Friday)." LSU and USF did not report a new signee. This is just a small part of the article, but it is the whole section that relates to Francois. I changed the words a little and deleted some words to try to make sure I complied with copyrights.
And now they have changed that post to say that he brought the letter back a few hours later and he remains undecided.
http://bulls.tbo.com/bulls/MGBAB1SAT4E.html The above is the link to the article. The article also says that Jean-Francois returned the LOI an hour later unsigned saying he still wasn't sure. (Meaning Daddy still won't let him, IMO.) Also, both LOI's (SF and LSU) are locked in his coach's desk so he won't have access to either of them until Monday.
I finally found the quote from Jean-Francois's father I was looking for: ``Me and his mom don't want him to go to LSU,'' said his father, Celhomme Jean- Francois. ``Ricky was happy with South Florida. Those people [at LSU] washed his brain. That's not going to work. They make a mistake. What the hell does "make a mistake" mean? I can take it to mean lots of things, so it has me a bit puzzled. It also leaves me with the feeling Daddy is trouble.
What? Does his Daddy think we made a mistake in judging his ability? And to think that his son is good enough of a player to play for a top-10 team, in the nation's #1 football conference??? Come on Ricky Jean-Francois! Mom and Dad will quickly forgive you once they make their first LSU game and see you run out of the north tunnell with 92,000+ NEW members of your family!
The guy is an immigrant, he probably barely speaks English. I took it to mean "they are mistaken". As in LSU is mistaken to think they can 'wash his brain' and get him to come to LSU.
RJF's parents need to start thinking about what is in HIS best interest; not theirs. With the quality program we have here and the amount of exposure on TV he would receive, to go to South Florida could cost him big time when the NFL draft comes around. Daddy needs to think about that.
