That is why I never trust the stats given for these things. In reality they have an assistant jotting some numbers down here and there to amuse the media. As you can see those stats given do not even come close to the 100 plays they ran that day.

I definitely understand that, hence my comment on it being a situational scrimmage, they want to see different players get reps. But I guess my concern is that Ford hasn't played a down of college football so he needs the reps as well, imo.

this is pretty much what i figured. people saying he was going to be out for like 6 weeks because of a jaw? anyway. i think we'll be fine this season in all phases of the ball... but, will it be enough? brutal, brutal schedule.

Well most said 4-6 weeks and if he plays his 1st game against Vandy then it would be 4 weeks out with injury.

Another example of a scrimmage and stats.

McElroy at Bama threw for like 360 yards and the defense allowed 13 TDs.

I would assume they worked a lot of goal line situations and 2 minute offense if that is the case. If not, then get ready to see the worst defense you have ever witnessed.

i realize that, but people were being "hopeful" that he'd be back for florida. my point was that with the rest of the offseason plus the first couple weeks of the season, it was almost irrelevant and some younger guys could get much needed work. that's all.

and that mcelroy stat is a great way to show how "misleading" all of this info can be. bama's offense won't be that good and their defense not that bad.

No, their secondary got torched. Even by their freshman QB. Gumps are claiming they now have a pass offense like Miami in the '80s.

I am sure they will be better, but it will be the weak spot for their defense this season.
