That's always the rumor, but it rarely happens. Not sure why, but almost every week fighter jets fly over campus. When its during football season, people start saying they are practicing for a flyover. I saw two earlier in the week.
I may have read it on DandyDon's site. I love when they do it! I remember when several guys jumped from a plane and landed in the stadium in the rain. Those guys are nuts!
Rain is inevitable tomorrow, but let's just hope tomorrow night looks like this in BR. It rained in epic proportions before the Fresno St game a few years back, but right before kickoff...it stopped...and didn't rain during the game. I was already pretty well drenched, but it wasn't that hard to endure sitting there for the whole game. I recall Buster Davis had a big game...and I think Laron Landry murdered 2 or 3 Bulldogs that night! I remember a punt return or KO return for a TD as well. It'll be fun no matter what! For those going to the game tonight, what do yall think the crowd impact might be if the forecast holds? How empty might the stadium be? I know if it rains all day, the parking/tailgating/walking to stadium mess alone may keep folks at home. I haven't been to many games in the last 20 years (occupational hazard), so I have no clue.
First game -- the crowd will be big. It may leave early if it rains heavily the whole game. Kids and girlfriends that melt have to be accommodated. It will be warm rain, at least. It's the cold rain in november that kills crowds. If they close the grass parking lots traffic will be bad, bad, bad.
.....which is precisely why I'll be watching from the comfort of my own home. Gotta be truthful with ya. Saints game tomorrow should be fun though.
It was storming when I left the house at 530 and rained steady until about 610 when I got to campus..by 630 it was a drizzle that every few mintues or so would turn into a hard drizzle and then I would say from that time until 830ish it it was off and on drizzle and then it started coming down hard. Forced us to do the Geaux Show in front of the Book Store under the overhang of the Union. By the time we were mid way through with the show the rain stopped and then til about noon it was that drizzle with hard drizzle ever so often. After Noon it stopped completely and never rained again until I was on I-12 at Airline heading home!
