I find it funny. It’s a feel good measure. You and your kids have a higher chance to be stabbed with a knife than an AR. Last I checked, DICKs still sellin Knifes.
Knives have many practical applications besides causing harm to living things. Also, an untrained lunatic could never grab some knives and stab up a school, movie theater, country concert, etc. and rack up a huge body count before being stopped. Weird comparison.
A few years ago an untrained lunatic in China picked up a knife and killed 30 or 40 school children. Thank God he didn't have a gun too. Or a baseball bat or a tire tool.
Check China. Some dude murdered a grip with 1 knife. Practicality has nothing to do with freedom. If that were the case we need to outlaw a variety of foods that’s do nothing but kill you.
There was an incident in March of 2014 where some 30 people were killed and 130 were also wounded. Later on that month, another chopping spree in China left 6 dead. In December of 2012 is when some nitwit injured 22 school children. There were six similar attacks in just seven months in 2010 that killed nearly 20 people and wounded more than 50. The most recent such attack took place in August, when a knife-wielding man broke into a middle school in the southern city of Nanchang and stabbed two students before fleeing. In one of the worst incidents, a man described as an unemployed, middle-aged doctor killed eight children with a knife in March 2010 to vent his anger over a thwarted romantic relationship. China has an issue. So does Japan. In July, 2016 in Sagamihara, 19 people were killed and 26 others were injured, 13 severely, at a care home for disabled people. In June, 2008 in Akihabara, a man drove into a crowd with a truck, killing three people and injuring two; he then stabbed at least 12 people using a dagger, killing four people and injuring eight. In March, 2015 in Sumoto, five people were killed in a stabbing rampage. Children, elderly, large crowds in general are easy targets where one can do a lot of damage in a short period of time. The average police response is somewhere between 2-5 minutes. Watch what this dude does in 15 seconds...
