Yes except Nauta was not a commit, not even close. He is choosing not to make an official visit and was a longshot at best. He'll be a Dawg. I do anticipate there will be others. Assistant coaches are earning their money in the next 24-48 hours. Spurrier has now been added to the list of delusional Trojan fans who are considering anyone and everyone at this point.
Why would they want a 70 y/o coach who looks like he is worn out? Snyder appears to be going strong at KSU, but they wouldn't have any other options anyway. USC can get the pick of the litter if they are patient, and can certainly get someone w/more energy and enthusiasm than Spurrier.
As for the decommit.....it doesn't come as a surprise. Not so much because it happened yesterday, but because there has been chatter for over a month about him wavering despite having signed his EE paperwork. The irish have been in his ear very hard and on the field, they have been making a much better case. The tweets from this kid during and after his official to south bend made it clear that he wasn't committed to USC, but more to specific coaches. That's always a problem. This is what started the doubters. Picture of Daelin and his mom with Sark before the August Salute to Troy event..... Picture of Daelin after his trip to notre dame....
I don't think it's a serious ponderance, more just outrageous commentary because at this point, we need to laugh about it all. What else can we do? Spurrier wouldn't even make the long list. But pick of the litter? I don't know. Shouldn't we have had that before but ended up with Cutty? Hell, even Pete Carroll wasn't on the radar when he showed up on campus to lobby for the job and got it! Nobody liked the hire then either. It may be a desirable job in many aspects but I think it's the non X's and O's aspect that some potential coaches might second guess.
