Hopefully nobody. I would like his stupid ass fired as well. And even if he stays, he cannot be involved in the hiring process. He was hired as a placekeepr, sort of like Pope Benedict XVI. He was meant to steer USC through the mess of NCAA sanctions, but the job requires too many facets that he is just not qualified to handle.
WOW.... what a fall from grace for this guy. I remember a few years ago he was one of the hot names in coaching. Got a great gig as Head Coach at Washington to prove himself as a HC. Did ok there. Lands one of the top college jobs in the country.... and screws it up in less than 2 full years
If nothing else, maybe people can understand the power of alcoholism. Truly, it owns you once you know the consequences, and continue to drink, rather than get help that is offered. I will go back to his presser after the Salute to Troy incident. A reporter asked him if he would give up drinking for the remainder of the season and Sark's answer was, "sure". I knew right then he was a full blown dysfunctional alcoholic who wasn't ready to admit it. At the moment, based on some of what I'm hearing, I have concerns that he could potentially harm himself. I hope he gets help.
He probably will. Getting fired is likely the wake-up call he needed. If he has any family or friends who care anything about him they will do some kind of intervention
hopefully haden steps down. USC deserves better than this clown show. but he thinks hes the chosen one to right the wrongs. ugh hes annoying.
Actually, no. For many alcoholics of this level, losing your career isn't the bottom. I know that doesn't seem logical, but alcoholism is not logical. For an alcoholic, alcohol is above everything else, their lives revolve around drinking. Everything else is second fiddle. My brother took 25 years to get truly sober. I have a close friend who is an M.D. who lost his career, then his spouse a year later, now his kids, and I still don't think he is at bottom. Probably needs to go through some legal stuff next. Bottom for this group is very tenuous and a hard thing to wrap a non-alcoholic mind around. Very difficult to overcome. No quick fixes either. Intervention is not magical and not like you see on TV shows.
