Steve Sarkasian is taking a leave of absence according to this release. Apparently his demons are more than he can handle. Sad for him and I hope he gets the help he needs. http://www.latimes.com/sports/usc/uscnow/la-sp-usc-steve-sarkisian-on-leave-20151011-story.html
Hopefully, he recognizes and admits he has a problem and requires professional help. That's the big first step. Good luck Coach.
Technically, he isn't taking one....he was put on one. There were rumors he was drunk on the sideline during the ASU game, the slurred words and cuss-fest at Salute to Troy, and showing up drunk or hungover this morning before practice is no bueno. We play Notre Dame Saturday and instead of preparing, he's on a bender. Dude's personal life was unraveling in Washington and he brought it down here. Sure, I hope he gets help...more for his children's sake than anyone. I don't want him back at USC.
On another tack, Hayden hasn't covered himself in glory as AD. His hiring choices have been disasters.
Thanks. Hopefully their Mom can explain their Dad's problem. I'm sure they have probably seen & heard enough to know that all is not right. And hopefully Steve is smart enough to realize that he has to get his shit together to keep his family together assuming the wife and kids are OK with that.
It's time for him to go too. I think the last straw for most when it comes to Haden was his weak ass response when it became clear that the NCAA investigation was a sham and that they'd broken their own rules. if there are co-eds and booze, Lane is doing fine. They are in the middle of a divorce.
