He addressed it today, saying that they start preparing the gameplan at the beginning of the week based on the personnel they know will be available. Although no one asked, I would assume he would say that Deuce was dressed even though he wasn't in the gameplan so that they'd have him if Bush or Thomas got hurt. The followup question I would have liked to have heard would address the fact that on all of the plays you mentioned, our ballcarrier was hit in the backfield. I place the blame for these short yardage failures on our line, and I would like to hear their performance addressed.
And I can agree with the complaints about the offensive line not blocking people, but still Bush and Thomas can't drag people if they are covered up. Deuce can take a hit, and still fall forward.
I can have Shockey ready to play THIS WEEK. Just need some XXXL control top pantyhose and a big roll of electrical tape!
Watching the replay, it's sad to realize the officials gave the Broncos another gift wrapped victory. On that 3rd and one play just before the missed FG, Pierre was stuffed short. The outside linebacker was clearly in the neutral zone. The penalty was never called. You give the Saints 5 yards right there, it's a first and 10 at the 2 minute warning. The Saints could have run the clock down, got into a much closer position for a field goal and gone home a deserved winner. What makes this worse is the Saints were called for a neutral zone infraction earlier in the game. Oh well. Note to rest of NFL: don't plan on winning at Mile High.
Note to you: Teams who get stopped short 2, 3 and 4 times in a row on 1-yard to go situations don't deserve to win.
