Most of us want more fiscal responsibility so we never reach that point. Why don't you? No, just like they wouldn't allow us raise it at will to avoid the negative repercussions of reaching it.
You really don't know how government or the world works, do you? Fiscal responsibility applies BEFORE you make an expenditure, not when you have to pay the bill. Fiscal responsibility means you pay your debts. And it's not our creditors that make our debts, it's US. If you want to do something about government spending do it at the BUDGET and EXPENDITURE time, which Republicans control, not at the time you have to pay your bills. But this was not a real objection to spending at all, was it? It was about trying to cripple our economy to blame Joe Biden when it was Republicans, themselves, who spent the money and also gave hundreds of billions of tax cuts to people who didn't need it.
