when he was being helped off the field, it was pretty obvious his knee was not holding. you could see him trying to put weight on it and it collapsing. i didnt see the hit and it wasnt replayed in the stadium. was it an illegal hit? not being replayed and nothing called on it, i never knew.
pretty sure it was an illegal hit but ill have to watch the replay. yeah then i guess cheap is what i saw. pretty bad injury for our best dline prospect.
damn. this just adds more of a reason for chops blocks to be illegal. even cheap ones can easily ruin a guy's career. poor kid. i hope his rehab is successful.
I re-watched the game. It was done in the opponent's backfield by a Tennessee back so it wasn't an illegal chop block. He hit Sam low about thigh level little above knee level. It still got him though. I also didn't see Kendrick Adams, number 94, playing in that game. Does anyone know if he was hurt?
Wrong. The lineman clearly was not engaged when he was hit low. Go look at it again. The lineman was still in his backpedal when the RB hit him low. A legal, but unfortunately, somewhat dangerous play. Montgomery was focused on beating the Lineman and did not see the low block coming. If the Offensive Tackle had been in contact with Montgomery when the RB hit him low, it would have been an illegal chop block and a 15 yard penalty.
