I never knew this was why he disappeared after having that awesome rookie season. I guess he got paid and the money made him soft. Still one of my favorite Tigers of all time.

 

This one. I see a lot of names from players still on the team, most notably on defense. No wonder.

 

I understand your beliefs on pot, I also believe it should be legalized for myriad reasons. However I do think that anyone who has a job that pays as well as the nfl should refrain from smoking it. Heck, I don't make anything close to that and I don't smoke as I am subject to testing.

I'm hoping that down the road weed is made legal and that testing can become similar to the way it is with alcohol so that the presence of htc in your system won't be a fireable offense.

 

You don't find that to be a bit invasive? You really think its your employers right to know what you do behind closed doors....as long as you aren't a pedophile or murderer, or rapist, I don't think it's anyone's business.

 

7 of those guys are still on this team. Honestly maybe Freak is the same way it seems, after watching him this year. Tons of talent but no drive, no want to be excellent. Just working off his talent instead of putting in the extra work to be great.

 

LaSalle you know most of us support your goal and see that the laws are wrong. What you seem to refuse to acknowledge is that in this case the use of weed wasn't the cause but a symptom of Sam's problem. He was not disciplined enough to do the things that were required of a professional. Weed was but the excuse. The Texans were disappointed he failed to show up in shape not once but twice. Had Sam been responsible he would have done what a professional does...show up in shape play hard...perform like JJ Watt...then you can smake all you want.

Sam got fired for performance weed was the excuse.

I get it, and if he under performed, didn't put in the work, his bad, fire him. I'm ok with that.
