Spoke to a good friend of mine that lives in the Houston area and knows a few people that follow McGuffie's high school, etc. and he was told what I suspected as soon as I read his comments on Rivals: That McGuffie really has no interest in LSU--he just wants as many "big-name" offers as he can possibly get. My buddy was also told that McGuffie's only true focus is going to Oklahoma--which would make sense since Peterson has left and they really don't have a clear-cut replacement. IMO, McGuffie isn't coming to LSU. Especially not with Keiland, Charles Scott, Richard Murphy all ahead of him--and all with 3-4 years of eligibility left...And since LSU's philosophy reguarding running backs isn't to have only 1 featured back, but rather utilize 2-3 of them each season, our running backs are more likely to remain in school till their Sr. seasons. ...that's simply not the case with teams like Oklahoma.
Interesting. Same sentiments are being considered on the SC board. There is the thought that McGuffie just wants to rack up offers, not necessarily entertain them with any sincerity. The only difference is, "insiders" seem to think he's a lock as an Aggie.
I actually think Oklahoma has some good backs especially the kid from Las Vegas DeMarco Murry who is a freshman and former Army All-American and you also got Chris Brown from Alexandria who is a sophmore, then that Madu guy from Norman Oklahoma another sophmore, and they got a big commit from Jermie Calhoun who they have been high on forever. So i have to agree with him going to Texas A&M first and Michigan second b/c of his parents
Thanks for the clarification. For the past few years it's been the Adrian Peterson show....and no one else really got the spotlight, so I didn't know they had all of those guys on board.
Sam McGuffie Chooses Sam McGuffie, 3200 yards and 44 touchdowns for Cy Fair last fall as a junior and you can check him out on youtube, picked Tulane. Apparently, he's really impressed by Tulane's Latin American Studies department and the fact that their going to start offering a coordinate major in Social Policy and Practice. Rick Dickson's going to make the announcement tonight. I know, I can't believe it either! :nope: Crud. Toledo may have something down there. It's just what I heard. I can't find any official source.
Re: Sam McGuffie Chooses Where is this being reported? McGuffie had racked up alot of big name offers.
Re: Sam McGuffie Chooses This thread should be deleted and homeboy should be kicked off TF for making stuff up.
