Me too. He probably was looking for playing time which could have been hard to come by here. This is all part of the game at top flight programs like ours...and why the numbers always seem to work out by the time fall practice starts. There's lots of programs that could benefit from transfers like this. I think that if a player lives up to his end of the bargain, was a good teammate, did well academically, the coaches ought to let them transfer anywhere...even within the SEC...even within the western division. Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Kentucky, etc. could really benefit from players like these. It's good for the SEC and it's good for football, but most coaches are too selfish to let this happen.
so with seniors Taylor (1st string S) and Bryant (2nd string S) graduating, our projected 2-deep at S is true junior Reid, redshirt junior Loston, redshirt freshman Eugene, true sophomore Martin rounding out the 3-deep was redshirt sophomore Vinson and redshirt sophomore Gibson...who both left the team recently for Tennessee State and Arkansas State replacing them at 3rd string will be redshirt junior Duplessis, true freshman Thompson, and/or true freshman Sandolph is that right?
oh, to answer this: yes, both Gibson and Vinson have been removed from the official LSU roster at LSUsports.net
Malzahn and the Arkansas St. program looks like it just might be something to casually follow for a few years. It is sort of reminding me of Terry Bowden when he returned to coaching. He was getting quite a few transfers as well. EXCEPT, he had a lot of kids coming in that had been booted from the original team they signed with.
Welp, there went one set of free tickets...but hey. It's the SEC. Humbling, but it's big boy football...
This is one to keep an eye on.. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...ing-2012-national-signing-day-targets/page/21
