Eric Crouch too. Actually now that i think about it, has any player that won the heisman actually won the National Championship the same year? Matt Leinart maybe? Crouch Lost Smith Lost White Lost Bradford Lost Reggie Bush Lost
i should have worded it differently i meant in the bcs era. and i think reece davis confirmed it tonight that the heisman trophy winner is 1-5 in bcs national championship games in the same year they won the heisman. thats crazy, i wonder if the drain of award ceremony and the interviews or maybe you just kind of lose focus, has to do with it.
This. Plus, SEC defenses would've put him on his azz more. He didn't look as good with a bunch of pressure. But there's no denying his stats and his accuracy. Take the money, Sam.
I think(not absolutely positive) Carson Palmer was the only one I can remember. Every one else was a bust. EDIT: My mistake maybe it was Leinart. It was when they beat OU.
Based on last night's game, not only would Bradford not have won the Heisman, he probably would not have been in the running for the award. He would have had stats like that of Stafford. Nothing to be embarrassed about but no Heisman talk either.
Fixed it for ya! If you get a chance to watch the game again, key in on how almost everyone of them had their hands outside the pads, latched on for dear life. It took a lot for the refs to call anything until one FLA defender was completely spun around. Refs are notoriously reluctant to throw flags in championship games and they took full advantage of it, especially in the first quarter.
