What an ugly game! We've hurt our chances for the #1 pick however this defense will get eaten alive as this season moves along. Question is who do we draft with our high pick? Race for the #1 Draft Pick: Miami 0-6 Rams 0-6 Saints 1-4 Bengals 1-4
I think the Saints will turn it around and have a half decent season. They dominated last week and should have won easily, and this game was pretty much dominated as well except for that ugly 4th quarter. Don't count this team out yet. The rest of the schedule is fairly easy. This team still has an outside shot at 9-7. I don't think they will be worse than 7-9.
Hopefully someone within the Saints camp finally said enough is enough and decided that being the laughingstock of the NFL is not something they want to be ever again. If they play FOUR quarters of football the way they played the first three quarters yesterday, they might have a decent chance of turning things around. Who Dat.
This makes the loss to Carolina hurt that much more, as we'd be playing Atlanta this weekend with a chance to get to .500, but at lease we are in the win column. If we can beat Atlanta to get to 2-4, we play San Fran with a chance to get in the race.
Yeah DH, I told my friend that yesterday. We dominated the Panthers, should have easily won, and we would be 2-3. Dallas should have lost to Buffalo, they would be 4-2. Imagine, the Saints only 1 loss behind what is perceived as the best team in the NFC. The thing that worries me is the 4th quarter of the Seahawks game. Last year, the Saints put that game away 42-17. But this offense is still struggling to some degree and it makes no sense as to why. We have a much better catching TE, which should help the outside receivers, but it hasn't worked out that way. Hopefully Patten can keep it up. Devery is a complete joke at this point. I called for us to sign him in the offseason to prevent the big money payday as a free agent, but the Saints were right in not doing that. He won't be a Saint next season.
Talked to a friend of mine who is the biggest Saints fan I know. He says 8-8 which wouldn't be bad considering the start. Hopefully the offense can develop around the type of plays that Reggie Bu$h can succeed with now that he will have to carry most of the rushing load. Agreed, Devery is a big disappointment this year and probably won't be a Saint unless he really turns it on from here i.e., catches the ball. I don't recall him having problems catching the ball at LSU. Am I remembering correctly ?
no, Devery couldn't catch at lsu either. he wasn't as bad at lsu as he is this year. maybe his fingers hurt from counting all the money...i don't know. saints win...back to the super bowl talk!
