These preseason games really suck. Something to have playing in the background while I fry up these Delacroix specks...

I think the D missed the bus to Houston.

Three turnovers by the offense also...and the Texans really didn't have to earn any of them.

This is ugly. Two hours of my night gone. Time to turn the tv off. :thumb:

we still need to make some changes on the def. We missing something/players. Sharper needs to be signed if for nothing but his leadership, imo. Also we need to go and get an OLB and a shut down corner. Sameuls will probably be available. Just my two cents.

Thank goodness that was a pre-season game....the worst defensive performance ever under Payton. Oliver got schooled in the secondary, but he shouldn't have been put in position to have to make so many plays. The d-line got their heads handed to them. Offensively, the run game was very encouraging, but the pass game still isn't hitting. #9 is struggling....the long completion to Meachem would have been a TD had he not thrown the ball to the outside shoulder. The opening drive, he out-and-out missed Graham for a TD. We got a break on the penalty, but Brees went deep with the ball, and Graham looked to be breaking off the route (which could have been JG's fault). One more big play, and Joe Morgan makes the team. Mitch King is also making a strong case.

I really thought some defensive needs were addressed in the off season. I knows it's only preseason but man...

Agreed, you don't want to read too much into a preseason game, but 200 yards rushing, the bulk of which came against the 1st team does raise some red flags of concern.

Preseason games..............its more about looking at players, who they will have to cut, who they will keep. Happens every year.

I'm well aware of that, but 1st string D got gashed. No other way around it. One game is no reason to throw in the towel, obviously, but it can't be ignored either.

Every year we have a pre-season game where Payton has no gameplan(Doesn't bother to put much together), this is the one. I never read too much into these games. How many TD's did Ridley score in the first game for the Pats? They scored 31 pts. against the Bucs, an Ridleys TD's? Like I said, don't read too much into these games. If its the first real game, then you have something to worry about.

I can tell you that Gregg Williams will have his defense ready for the first game.
