I have tickets to the Saints season opener. I have a killer room for Fri - Mon. I also have a FRIGGIN HURRICANE about to pound the coast somewhere in LA. What do you guys think are the chances that the game will be played next Sunday if the Hurricane follows the current projected path of landfall somewhere between Lafayette and MC? Surely the DOME and the Quarter will be up and running 3 days after landfall if it misses N.O. huh? Please give me some confidence...please. PS - if the game is still on, and some of you are going, I would like to meet some of you....except the one's of you that are jerks....wait a minute...I don't want to meet any of you....just kidding. :thumb:
LOL, sure you have a chance. If it hits where they say its gonna hit, and hovers like they say its gonna hover, there won't be no football in New orleans for a few weeks bro.
Assuming NOLA doesn't flood, I think there's a good chance in 2 weeks the Saints play in the Dome. The Dome is not being used as a shelter of last resort this time; the general destruction inside won't happen. That white vinyl (or whatever it is) roof covering might get torn up again, but I don't think that alone would keep the Saints out. If the city floods, all bets are off.
i'm going to the game. we're going to bourbon on sat, then the game sun. gustav will miss nola. bank on it
FYI: From ESPN "NEW ORLEANS -- A hurricane has driven the Saints out of New Orleans again. They don't plan on being gone nearly as long this time. With Hurricane Gustav bearing down on the Gulf Coast three years after Katrina swamped New Orleans, the Saints left Saturday for Indianapolis, where they will spend the week preparing for the Sept. 7 opener against Tampa Bay."
Now that this doesn't look like such a far fetched and absurd question, what are the chances as of now? I think it is a 90% chance the game will go on. Am I alone on this?????
