Well, it has been a miserable performance for the Saints so far (5 minutes into 3rd quarter). Offense has been sloppy and they have been in a pass-happy mode since the opening kickoff. Defense can't stop RGIII. Great play on a blocked punt put the game in shooting distance at the half, but Harper gets hosed on a PI call in the end zone on a 4th down play to balance that one out.

Not to mention a fumble inside the 'skins 5 yard line that resulted in a touchback, and way too many penalties.

I expected the Saints to struggle with the Redskins as they generally give the Saints fits but the shooting in the foot has got to go. Granted the defense has a couple players out but WTF is the sloppy defensive play? Give up 88 yd TD? Big plays kill the defense every year. Despite the terrible play on both sides of the ball, this game went down to the final seconds which is a miracle with all the self-inflicted injuries + bad PI by the refs. Going into this season I felt the Saints would struggle the first 4 games and after this game, I see nothing to change my feelings.

40-32 final, Redskins outgained Saints 464 to 358

Saints rushing attack held to 32 yards for the game (Redskins ran for 153...and their leading rushers were BOTH ROOKIES...Morris, a 6th Rd pick out of Florida Atlantic had 96 and RGIII had 42)

Redskins dominated time of possession - they had it 39 minutes to 21 for Saints

Redskins' game plan was run-first - they ran 44 times and only passed 26

Saints game plan was pass-first - they passed 52 times and only rushed 10 times

    Brees was 24 of 52 for 339 yards, 3 TD, 2 INT, 70.9 rating

    RGIII was 19 of 26 for 320 yards, 2 TD, 0 INT, and a ridiculous 139.9 rating

Saints had 3 turnovers (2 INT and Colston's fumble into endzone), Redskins has zero

each team had 12 penalties (costing the Skins 127 yards compared to 107 for Saints)

    leading tacklers per team

    -Cam Jordan 11 tackles...he does that every.game, he'll finish regular season with176

    -LSU's Perry Riley 5 tackles
