The "Who Dat" and "Raider" nations collide in the only preseason game where we may actually see some real action. I'll be looking forward to the only two quarters of preseason football which resemble the real season.

I'll be looking at the defensive front seven for the saints this evening.

 

Devery with a 37 yard pass to start the game. Brees on the money with three passes. (one dropped) The other was thrown in traffic but not a bad pass.

Saints go for a 4th & 2 and get the 1st down!

Defense still having trouble tackling

 

Yep. Do people no longer teach people how to tackle anymore? All people want to do anymore is turn themselves into human projectiles. Nowadays it's "nice hit"...back in the day it was "a sound tackle".

Plus the fact that there were two holding no-calls on Oakland's last two td's.

 

Nothing beyond what I saw on TV last night. Looks like he took a hit to the left lower ribs but didn't seem to be that hurt. You heard anything?

As far as last nights game, it seems it took extreme accuracy for Brees to slip his passes in there for completions. Oaklands receivers were wide open (as were Houston's last week). If we don't shore up this defense, not sure our offense will be able to outscore the good teams. It may be a Greg Williams philosophy thing rather than lack of personel.

 

Why can't we have Rickey Jackson and Sam Mills as our LB's now?:bncry:

 

That would be nice. As much as the LB's were unimpressive, I've really been disappointed in the DL the last two games. Hopefully when the regular season starts they will pick it up a notch.
