MOVED....had to get DirectTv instead of cable. WHAT CHANNEL??!!! For the love of GOD someone tell me I can get the game tonight.
Some observations after 2 pre-season games: Run blocking is solid, but the pass protection needs to pick up. Too many people are getting too close to Brees. Courtney Roby clearly wants to be the #4 receiver. His already-proven ability on special teams is going to make it tough to let him go. Andy Tanner is also impressing. OTOH, Joseph Morgan has not helped himself much. The staff seems something they really like in Tavaris Cadet. But is it enough to unseat Chris Ivory? Not IMO. Chase Daniel has a long way to go, but he's also come a long way. Throwing the ball very well, but he still tucks-and-runs too quickly. Very encouraged that, with only 4-5 series, the first team defense has already created 2 TOs. Cameron Jordan is looking much improved. So is Sed Ellis. Curtis Lofton is the real deal; very excited about him. Also encouraged that Johnny Patrick and Marquez Johnson did not get carved up by Tom Brady. This bodes well for our overall strength at cornerback.
I don't think the DL is improved as much as Spagnolo's system is a welcome relief for them. Lasy year under Williams, the DL was coached not to rush, but stand there and occupy their gap so that blitzing LBs could go between them. That had do drive Jordan and Ellis nuts because all DLs love to pin their ears back and do battle with the OL as they rush the freakin' QB.
