Sunday, Oct 04 @ 4:05 EST The Jets plain and simple, play great defense. They don't turn the ball over on offense. They run the ball very effectively. Special teams are very good. Their isn't a weak spot with this team. It should be a dandy. New Orleans 26, New York Jets 17. Key to the game: limit the Jets running attack and force Sanchez into a couple of big turnovers.
Heath Evans keeps bulldozing holes, and this one has another fun ground game written all over it Saintslogo
This dude is unreal. He is also a great receiving back, adding to the endless options Brees has at his disposal.
You gotta give props to the front office. This is the most confident I've been with the direction of the team and the decision making the entire time I've been a fan. The only thing close was when Randy Mueller was here, but this is worlds ahead of that front office.
I totally agree ever since Finks died the front office was in a tailspin...Randy was able to at least get the nose up but this is championship quality choices here!
"The Jets will be without a pair of starting cornerbacks again this week. Lito Sheppard (quad) and Donald Strickland (ankle) are officially out for this weekend’s showdown against the New Orleans Saints." That's big considering the Saints have the horses to trot out 4 and 5 receiver sets. There is a good chance that Lance Moore will see action Sunday. So having to defend Colston, Henderson, Moore and Meachem along with either Bush and/or Shockey is just going to be a bit too much for this Jets defense. I like the Saints D matching up against a lackluster Jets offense. Once the Saints limit the Jets running game and can come full tilt with the pressure on Sanchez, you will see for the first time all season the rookie mistakes everyone could have expected at the beginning of the year. The honeymoon is over, Mr. Dirty.
Ron Jaworski on Mike and Mike just stated that the Jets blitz a league-high 63% of the time and the Saints blitz 47% of the time which is good for second in the NFL. The league average is only 35%. In actuality, the Bears are #2 and the Saints are right behind him in 3rd place.
