Great job, and you must be proud as can be. Hell, I am proud, when my daughter takes out the garbage. By the way, she nailed the timing, too. Congrats to all.
Awesome, congrats! I'm sure you are damn proud! I have the pleasure of watching these beautiful planes fly every day here in Shreveport. They make me proud to be an American!
FYI, she is in the 343rd Bomb Squadron USAFR, at Barksdale. Look closely at the A-10 in my avatar, that plane is still in the 47th Fighter Squadron at the same base and my "home" for 10 years.
Most cool!!!! I appreciate you and your girls service! I remember when England was still open. Their A-10's would be doing what my brother and I would call "tree trimming" at Toledo Bend. It would be quiet, then out of nowhere they do a fly by of our boat at tree top altitude. It would scare the crap out of us, but we loved it.
I was with the 11th Air Refueling Squadron in Altus Oklahoma. Altus AFB was home to C5As and C141s and a few B52s.
I didn't know Altus had any B-52's stationed there in the past. I thought it was only Minot, and Barksdale. Interesting....
I've got the nose cone from a 500 pounder sitting on my desk. I mailed it when I was out there in 2003 visiting the satellite tracking station and the GPS station. On the customs paperwork I put paperweight. ETA: BUFFs were there when I visited but I don't remember where they were from. I think it was one of the northern tier bases, probably Grand Forks.
