Brees is now 21 of 27 (77.8%), 316 yds, 4 TDs, 155.0 rating Saintslogo Saints O has put up 399 yards and 41 points so far! Colston has 147 yards so far! 4 different Saints recievers have caught TDs: Colston, Shockey, Meachem, Moore! 2 different Saints have rushing TDs: Bush, Bell! Unstoppable!!!
I hope this ends all the Eli Manning best QB / MVP talk and puts it back where is belongs....to Brees
The only media source I heard/read about this game was ESPN radio this morning (The John Kincade Show and his interview with Quady Ismail)... and they were saying that Brees gets all this love (deservedly) about being the best QB in the NFL, so they were trying to prop up Eli as an "elite" NFL QB, and they made some good points that Eli is now a top (think top ten) NFL QB, but they weren't even thinking about saying that Eli was on the level of Brees. What was bothering me about them was that they were saying that "the Saints haven't impressed anybody outside of Louisiana and they need to beat the Giants today to get any national respect"... and I was like wtf? I was thinking the same thing before we beat down the Jets, when I was talking to some New York guy claiming that the Saints haven't played anybody (hello, Eagles? hello, Buffalo shut down Brady and the Patriots?) and that the Jets and Giants would both crush the Saints... and even he admitted if we just beat the Jets, he'd be impressed. Well, they can all shut up, now!
Yeah, national respect isnt there for us yet...and Im kinda thinking thats a good thing. We will get it, just the later the better. Lay low. All Ive been hearing all week was how Eli is the front runner for the MVP; however, they also follow that up with Payton isnt far behind and is putting together his best season of his career . It's just the media hyping the whole Manning brothers and praying they meet each other in the Super bowl.
As for Peyton having the best season of his career so far, I saw something on that that made sense, but I don't remember it of the top of my head. And I agree with some comments I read that said that in the first 2-3 games of the season that Brees was the front-runner for MVP, and in the games since then that Peyton Manning was the Man... but Brees is back to being the MAN today! To me, the two best QBs in the NFL are Brees and P. Manning.
