This is an amazing article from an ESPN writer formerly with the Times Picayune. If you love New Orleans, this is a must read. NFL: New Orleans Saints are the soul of America's City - ESPN
So has New Orleans replaced Dallas as America's team? Or is that way to premature? Because Dallas isn't America's team anymore.
Agree with you on Dallas....and judging from the Saints fan turnout we're consistently seeing in opposing stadiums this year, I'd say we're on the way to replacing them.
I have always hated the Cowboys for that sole reason. WTH made them America's team? They sure in the hell don't represent the heart and soul of this country, never have and never will.
Holy cow, that article is a fantastic read! And as being relevant to your comment, Legacy, here's a quote:
So those arrogant shyts self imposed themselves on the rest of the country, as "America's Team". I knew I had a good reason for hating them.
well in all fairness they were America's team. That is until Jerry Jones took over. Now they are more like "the team America loves to hate". I disagree with that article though because i love the D/FW metroplex. I think it is a great place to live, and has a bunch of wonderful people who live in it. The Cowboys organization i can see that if that is what the article is referring to.
I don't know if we can be The America's team that the old cowboys used to be... but we are definitely the team that everyone roots for. That's enough for me.
The news media made them America's team. In fact I think they coined the phrase. The latest polls seem to indicate otherwise as in Saints. Quick switch to a Tiger Woods story!
