What I liked the most from today's game, is the fact that after an embarassing loss last week due to the fact that the team was not ready to play, Payton made damn sure that wasn't going to happen again (0 turnovers). And when RB learns how to be patient, good luck to the rest of the league.

Joe needs to stay right where he is at. He still has "IT" and what's even better is that he knows that its time for him to teach the younger guys. After a win, he isn't boasting about what he did or didn't do. He is talking about the team effort and "WR Corp" performance. He truely is a leader on the team. Colston is looking like a gift from god. My only fear about Colston is, right now he's humble cuz he was a 7th round pick (not alot to brag about). Hopefully, next year doesn't let his head explode, but I think thats when Joe's leadership will payoff.

    ISLSTL,
How bout Payton understanding an offense and football and using Devery for his major attribute, SPEED. Remember, Haslett either never played Dev or ran him 10 and in or 10 and out. Payton runs a "deep post" and a "fly" route, both where Dev just completely out ran the DB's.

I am not a huge Devery fan (Saint) b/c I know he has a hard time picking up the offense and has a tendency to drop some balls, unlike college; but I think he is completely underrated in the NFL for his speed. He is a hidden jewel b/c DB's seem not to respect him.

Also: Joe Horn is the veteran team leader on that team. His age is finally starting to show this year, but he tries his hardest every game and admits when sometimes it just wasn't enough. I hope he has one or two more good years and stays on as a coach and media personality.

    Oh Yeah: !!!GO LIONS!!!

Peyton is my early fav for Coach of the Year. No one thought the Saints would win more then 4-5 games this whole year.

    Colston for Offensive Rookie MVP...

Just think of a 5 wide out .... Horn, Colston, DH, Bush and Micheal Lewis? Talk about speed. Like to see any TEAM stop that on a regular basis.

Yeah I remember the year Lewis was good for 1 big play every couple of games or so as a WR. I wouldn't mind seeing that myself.

And yes Devery was used beautifully. The fly pattern down the sideline was so cool as he just blew past the DB who, as the earlier poster said, didn't give Devery the respect for his sheer speed. That's ok, keep disrespecting him. Payton is a master exploiter.

My concern was the depth at receiving after the Hamstring trade. Looks like we're more than ok. The Saints system allows for people who might be less talented to still make plays.

I think the reason we continue to use Reggie as a typical North-South runner is in hopes to develop his game. I think once he gets used to the style of play in the NFL he'll be much better at it. I don't think (nor did I ever) he'll ever be a great typical RB, but he'll be effective enough that we'll be able to mix it up with him so that defenses don't know what to expect when he's in the game and will have to respect everything he can do.
