The team — which has not sold out its suites in at least a decade and maybe ever — followed up its 2006 season, when it advanced to the NFC championship game, by selling all its luxury suites in the Louisiana Superdome for the 2007 season." TAKE THAT SAN ANTONIO
Wow, that's a lot more than I thought. How much do other NFL stadiums have? With 137, I'm especially curious what Benson was always whining about. Or maybe they added suites during the renovation?
I was just wondering the same thing. Thats is what he always complained about. Saying there weren't enough suites to keep his franchise competitve. My question is, why was he worried about not having enough when he couldn't sell the ones he had?
I think it was part of his larger ploy to relocate the franchise to a city with more corporate interests, which traditionally buy the suites. And we agree that it's still puzzling as to why he complained about the QUANTITY of suites, when 137 seems like a pretty decent-sized number. I'm sure there are some folks that follow the Saints more closely that can answer this question.
The owners want more suites because they get to keep most, if not all, of the money generated from those sales. They must share the money from general ticket sales with the other clubs.
