Other than safeties, all the defense needs is a few new defensive coaches and healthy players, IMO. The talent and ability is there. The offense is all we have to hang our hat on, and it all flows through Brees. I haven't seen another QB like him, and watching Daniel and Harrell play this year, I couldn't help but notice the similarities. It'd be nice to keep that going. Or is that okay with you? :hihi:
lol, you know thats not ok with me, to waist a pick on a QB right now. If we are going to waist a pick on the offensive side, Id rather have an all-purpose back or an offensive lineman. But right now we have to work on the defense.:hihi:
I hope you're right but I think we have "some" talent but many of the players are just marginal. Also...will McKenzie ever be healthy? We pay him a huge salary and we haven't gotten our money's worth thus far. I haven't kept up with everything but don't we have to give up our #1 in we extend Vilma? If we don't he becomes an UFA (I think) and we would need to resign him. Otherwise, I'm not overly impressed with our LBs.
2nd at most. gave up a 4th and depending on how much he played(like every play) and if he signs an extension. so assuming he does, its going to be a 2nd.
Hey, it's just an opinion. We are adequately solid against the run and we gave up fewer long pass plays this year than last. Porter and Young are going to be good, and Gay holds his own. We need safeties like nobody's business and a DC to put them all in the right places. Now that Gibbs is gone, I hope we can get somebody to at least pull us in the top half of the NFL on D. If we can even get to 17th in the country in scoring D, I believe we'll see consistent double-digit wins if the offense keeps going. I agree in needing an all-purpose back, although Thomas is really showing promise. I wouldn't mind seeing Moreno or even Beanie picked up this year.
