    Here's the deal.

The Saints one and only opportunity to lose was this past Saturday night. They were playing the hottest team going into the playoffs. They were playing at home, where we weren't exactly lights out this past season. We were coming off a bye week and the offense showed it in the first quarter, when the game could have easily been put away with a 17-0 or 21-0 lead. The Saints came away with a win over a pretty damn good opponent without playing anywhere close to their A game.

The Saints will play extremely well against the Bears on Sunday. Then Payton will show why he is the coach of the year in the Super Bowl. He will come up with some mindboggling plays. I hope it comes against the current resident genius of the NFL, Mr. Belichick.

islstl. Can you crunch some numbers to see how much the weather will effect the Saints play this Sunday? Thanks. I agree that the Saint's match up well with the Bears. I think the Saints can score the points to win and Grossman will prove to be the weak link for the Bears. Maybe he practiced 100% this week. It still won't be enough.

I would love to see the equation he comes up with for this. I think it will involve pi.

    Let's see.

    Bears
    1) Grossman's strength is intermediate and long passes.
    2) Grossman can't throw a short pass to save his life.
    3) Benson would be great in the elements as a north-south runner like Deuce, but Lovie is so damned stubborn that he would still play the less effective Jones half the time.
    4) Berrian is only good for 1 long pass a game. Otherwise his impact is minimal.
    5) Devin Hester running for 100 yards on a return....I think not.

    Saints
    1) The Saints are the best dink and dunk passing team the NFL has seen in a long long time.
    2) Deuce McCallister is the best north-south running back in all of the NFL.
    3) Bush's effectiveness will be limited, but Payton will find ways to still use him to impact the game.
    4) Payton is a genius and will gameplan accordingly.
    5) Tight ends will catch for over 100 yards collectively Sunday.

Bottom line, Bears only win if Berrian and Hester both impact the game. Poor elements favor the Saints. Saints 31, Bears 20.
