But that would go against every ounce of the storied Saints history. This is Sean Payton being "aggressive". Arghhhhh.
well, that ought to about do it. another mediocre season. Too bad for the playoffs, too good for a decent draft. time to wallow in self-pity like usual. And here's to the good times, may they join us again next year.
No defense and no pass protection or run blocking. Yeah, that Meacham pick really worked out well.:dis: I not usually a coach basher but Payton doesn't strike me as a real winner.
your post would make sense if any of the above things had anything to do at all with Sean Payton... last time I checked, a GM picks the team for the coach. 7-9 with that band of rejects the Saints have in the secondary is pretty good if you ask me.
Aren't you a Journalism major? Please note the new paragraph which indicates a disconnect from the previous sentence.
Are you kidding me? You'll back John Brady and Smoke Laval, but you think Sean Payton is not a good coach? Let's see, first year he takes the Saints to the NFC title game, the second year they fall back to middle of the road (which by the way is still ahead of where they were in Haslett's last years). You might end up being right, but I'd like a little more evidence than two seasons on a team that has a lot of holes to fill.
Agreed. I think Payton deserves a little more time to prove his worth, especially after what he did last season. We've been plagued by injuries and a cornerback who didn't pan out as much as we'd hoped he would. I think as a result of personnel issues, Payton was forced to outthink himself at times and it cost us. Like I've said, we're a few players away from being a contender again and I'd like to see what Payton can do over the next 2-3 years before I judge his abilities.
^^^ what he said. If this were any other poster, I'd have let it slide, but you, of all people, shouldn't chime in on someone who is 17-15 in 2 years with the most losing franchise in the history of sports, pretty much. Edit: While also handling the pressure of playing through the whole "returning to new orleans" season.
