Hate to get ahead of ourselves (and we certainly shouldn't given the circumstances of this year), but the next 5 games certainly lend itself to a run we can go on: @ Carolina (no offense to speak of, defense is decent) Seattle (no offense to speak of, poor pass defense) @ Dallas (season is done) @ Cincinnati (season will be done by the time we play them) St. Louis (probably the toughest opponent of the bunch as Spagnoulo has them playing as well as they can) Cue my nephew complaining about this thread......
I'm visiting in Dallas this week. Went to their game yesterday to see the stadium. The stadium was awesome. The Cowboys, not so much. They really look bad on both offense and defense.
finally, i agree with your predictions looking ahead. i think the key here is, you are looking ahead 5 games, not 10
This schedule scares me as we're not playing any good teams. We have a tendency to play down to competition and there doesn't seem to be the same level of enthusiasm or urgency when we play weak teams. We have a GREAT opportunity to win all five AND get healthy in the process to set up a run for the title. If we play around like we did against Arizona and Cleveland we're going to dig a hole too deep to recover from. You don't get many chances to win it all so I hope we don't waste this season. I haven't seen any team this season that has moved ahead of the pack. I'm greedy! I want another trophy.
and a much needed bye week after Carolina. should be close to full strength by the Seattle game with some nice welcome back games for the cripples.
i agree, the Saints seem to be making lots of mistakes and playing really poor against the teams that aren't that good.
Nice 5 game run. But as some have stated above, we seem to be playing to the level of the competition this year (eg Browns and Cardinals). Also, there seems to be a lot more parity this year with any lowly team taking out any top ranked team.
