This has to be the best thing about this team. I can watch them be down by two scores and still keep interest in the game knowing that they can come back. Any other year I would have found something else to do in order to ease the pain.

For the Saints (9-4) to clinch a first round bye this week, they need a win as well as: a Dallas (8-5) loss to Atlanta, a Seattle (8-5) loss to San Francisco, and (surprisingly) a Giants (7-6) loss to Philadelphia.

I missed this at first as well, but if the Giants win out, that will include the head-to-head tiebreaker with the Saints.

Yeah didn't consider Giants at all, but you are correct. Even in a multi-team tie-breaker Giants would get the bye due to a 5-1 division record (I am assuming the Saints getting to 10-6 was due to a loss to Carolina in the last game of the season and not the Redskins this week).

The other thing this clinches, is no matter what happens over the next two weeks, the Saints will enter the Carolina game at least with a chance to get a first round bye. Besides the Bears, no other team can clinch over the Saints before then.

Giants - Philadelphia, New Orleans, @Washington
    Cowboys - @Atlanta, Philadelphia, Detroit
Seattle - San Fran, San Diego, @Tampa Bay

Saints - Washington, @NY Giants, Carolina

Bottom line - Saints just need to take care of business at home and they have the bye week.

Marques. Looks like these next 3 weeks will decide ROY b/t reggie and him. the 3 weeks or so he missed with injury not only hurt his chances, it compounded it by having to feature #25 moreso.

currently, the saints have the NFC MVP in brees, Most improved player in Deuce, the 1 and 2 rookies of the year however it falls and Coach of the Year in Payton.

could not agree more on the TO thing. Hes not even the best wr on his team. I was somewhat shocked about the ricky comments. I always figured he was too distant to really care enough to make remarks, especially to a quality guy like deuce.

i once was dancing for the saints in the wildest play Ive ever seen live then carney missed an extra pt.

funny to hear the hacks talk about this may be the beat coaching job by payton all year. apparently they werent paying attention. looked the same to me.

    It's at least a 3 way race.

Vince Young is 6-4 as a starter, 6-2 in his last 8 games. He has been clutch late in games the past 3 weeks (all wins). If the Titans go 8-8, he has a shot. If they go 9-7, he wins it.

Marques still not only has a shot at the ROY but the Pro Bowl. The NFC is not chock full of great wideouts. I hope he can blow up these last 3 weeks and end up with 10 TDs and 1200-1300 yards receiving (currently at 917).

Not sure how many go to the Pro Bowl, but Williams, Driver and Smith are looking most likely to get there. If they take only 3, then there are your 3.
