A combination of 2 Saints wins or Cowboy and Seahawk losses gives the Saints the bye week and home field advantage in the second round of the playoffs. Horn will be able to recover from his groin pull, Colston can totally heal, Hollis Thomas can get 2 weeks of practice in after his suspension ends. If Rex Grossman is still the QB for Chicago, they will lose their first playoff game and that will also open up home field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs for the Saints. Book it, they will lose if Lovie Smith is stubborn enough.
If that does happen. It will be like Mardi Gras day for the month of January. It will be nuts around here.
im glad you took my advice about grossman. just took a few weeks for reality to set in. also, good news on colston..was just cramps. sean payton has 39 new names on the 53 man roster? thats the most unreal thing of all given he's winning. so he takes scraps on defense no one else wanted (minus the ends) and can not only compete, he can get a bye in the playoffs thru rd 2. also everyone send a xmas card to the Houston Texans owner. Hows super mario doing? oh, the defense calls themselves the Oreo defense. 2 black safeties up top white linebackers in the middle with a black d-line. not as catchy as the dome patrol but hey, they named themselves and like it. Im guessing thats why the media doesnt report it. kinda funny.
Super Mario watched as that blur of a player named Vince Young ran right past him en route to a game winning touchdown.
Yeah I am sure you are referring to that silly thread I started about how Chicago had a legit shot at going undefeated. After the Cardinals game, I realized how stupid a thought that was. Let's just pray Lovie throws the season away with Grossman.
no just thought it was funny how the media has been all over the bears and their defense this year anointing them superbowl reps in the nfc while forgetting who is tossing passes for them.
True dat... What I want to know is where is the props for the Saints. All I am reading on boards across the NFL is how the saints were better prepared. Or Dallas played a bad game. No credit for what Peyton has done with this team in 10 months time. Guess they will give us credit sooner or later cause I am starting to doubt that anyone will want to face the Saints in the playoffs. We made the Boys look like App ST getting a beating by LSU... GG Saints..
The only way to stop this offense of the Saints is for the Saints to stop themselves. Another problem the Saints had was the redzone offense. Another problem solved. Nice to see Karney involved in the offense more. He is probably the 3rd best fullback in football behind only Neal and Strong, but nobody knows about him. KajunKenny don't look for the accolades. Let's keep flying under the radar. Let's keep letting em think somewhere along the line the Saints train will derail. We'll just leave em standing and scratching their heads at the train terminal. If you heard the post game press conference, Parcells said a lot of the Cowboys problems had to do with what the Saints were doing.
For 40 years, I've wanted nothing more than to see the Saints play in a Championship game. I've never been greedy. Right now, the NFC Championship game would be fine. I'm still nervous, but, once again I can watch a Saints game from start to finish and I'm grateful for that. I don't like the image of Benson peering down with his beady eyes from the owner's box, but, so far, it seems he's leaving the football to football people. Sean Payton has worked a miracle here. This team, individually, is really not that good, but collectively they are getting to be unbeatable. Brees is the best QB to ever put on a Saints uniform and Reggie Bush is showing why USC won so many games for 3 years. Deuce is Deuce. I loved the quote about he never forgot that Ricky Williams belittled him as a rookie so he's been nothing but helpful to Bush. That Williams comment reminded all of us of the ugly, not so distant past. One more thing: I would take one Marcus Colston over a thousand Terrell Owens. Sorry a$$ quit on that over the shoulder miss whil the game appeared to be in doubt. How awesome was it to see him pouting on the sidelines while Saints fans danced in the aisles.:thumb:
