Funny how King said this of Ryan when the Cowboys hired him as DC... February 28, 2011 Just remember one thing it you're underwhelmed by the Ryan hiring (which I decidedly am not): Rob Ryan is certain he can be a head coach in the NFL, and a head coach just as good as his brother. So he's motivated to lead the league in sacks and have a top-five defense and for the Cowboys to win. All of that, he knows, will lead to interviews for head- coaching jobs. So his motivation falls right in line with the motivation of every Cowboys fan. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/peter_king/02/28/combine/3.html My favorite replies to King's tweet on the Saints board: Rob Ryan has been better at his jobs than Peter King is at his. I guess when the cowgirls hired him it was the genius move of the offseason King has been nothing but a butt-hurt little "peter" ever since the Saints shut him out after his "reporting" at the beginning of "bounty-gate". That guy was never worth a darn, now that he has a grudge against us, he's even worse. I just asked my latest dump what it thought of the Rob Ryan hire because apparently any old turd can provide an opinion. go back to Jerry's office and stuff your pie hole with his popcorn while licking Jerry's boots Pete. King is a idiot!!! While Ryan might not be our first choice, you can go to the bank it will be an upgrade over what we had last year.. Anything we do, King has a negative The more media that have hated New Orleans hate on this guy, the more I like him. The year before the Cowboys hired Ryan they had the 31st ranked D in the League. Last year they the 19th with half their starters out. Saints defense was ranked 25th in yards allowed and 20th in points allowed in 2009. look at the total defense stats NFL Stats: by Team Category #1 Steelers- missed the playoffs #24 Falcons-#1 seed in the NFC #25 Patriots-#2 seed AFC #28 Redskins-playoffs we know Texas and Arizona had pretty great defenses this year. Texas was 7th, Arizona was 12th. Guess how many yards/game separated Arizona and Dallas last year? 18. Yes, 18 yards separated the "horrible" Ryan defense and the good Arizona defense. Or 32 yards/game between the Cowboys and the Texans. Hell, 60 yards per game between the Cowboys and the 49ers. So, if you look at some of the other teams, look how many yards/game separated them. 1. Pitt - 275 3. 49ers - 294 7 Texans - 323 12 Arizona - 337 15 Eagles - 343 19 Cowboys - 355 25 Patriots - 373 32 Saints - 440
Sports Illustrated: "Rob's defense speaks for itself. He brings a swagger and a confidence. You want to play better for him. It's contagious throughout the team," tight end Jason Witten says. " Ryan is large, long-haired, loud-mouthed, fiery and brash. When he's not actually participating in drills, he's often just a few yards away, bent at the waist with hands on knees and watching so intently you'd think the season was on the line. "I don't know if we win the all-hype team, I think that might have gone to somebody else," he said this preseason, no doubt referring to the Eagles' so-called Dream Team, "but we're going to beat their ass when we play them." Ryan talks with his arms and torso, suggesting power. (His) personality couldn't be better suited for his side of the ball.
We were almost a playoff team with the worst defense in the history of the NFL, so logic seems to dictate that any improvement will get us back on track.
when Ryan was fired by Dallas, the Dallas Morning News had an online reader poll asking whether Rob Ryan should have been fired and 72.03% voted 'no.' http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/da...e-cowboys-rob-ryan-should-have-been-fired.ece
Rob Ryan grows his hair then once a year he cuts it and donates it to "Locks of Love" a charity that makes wigs for children with cancer that are going through chemotherapy. Members of his family have had bouts with cancer.
