One reason why Swan's situation is so frustrating....healthy, I think he can make Browner expendable. But suffering a head injury in his first game back from a concussion? Not good. nola.com people tweeted that he looked "groggy and glassy eyed" coming off the field.
Brees has quickly gotten into a rhythm with Snead and Watson, and is close with Cooks. Won't be long with Spiller. He obviously has plenty left in the tank, but will he ever learn to tuck it and run? No reason at all to have forced that pass that got picked.
yeah it has been one of Brees' downfall to try to make the big play when it's not there....he had a wide open receiver underneath for the first down or he could have run it....but he certainly can't throw it into triple coverage
The horrendous call on the Saints on that sack fumble of Eli Manning almost cost us this game. Look at the replay and the ball is already on the ground when Beckham makes his cut and then gets held. Conversely, the Saints got away with interference on the very first pass play after the Saints tied it up at 49. Lewis tugged on his shoulder/bicep preventing Randle from extending his arms to catch what was an absolutely perfect pass. Game would have been over at that point.
I was SO pissed after that. I can't stand when referees call a penalty on the Saints, but the swallow their whistles when the opponent does the exact same thing. Some of those calls on Browner were bullshit. And the Giants got away with a blatant hold on their 2nd 4th down TD, when Manning threw up a prayer that was answered. At least we got the W. And hopefully another one against the Titans if Mett's starting.
Browner's marked now. The refs are watching him, and he's going to get the flag if he plays anything short of perfect.
