They aren't getting any better, for sure. They remind me of Tepper's days when LSU's D couldn't get anyone off the the field.
In the last 2 weeks we have played a lousy Washington offense and a severly depleted Atlanta offense and we have made them look like the 2nd coming of the Dan Fouts San Diego offense. We can't seem to stop anyone and Breese is a miracle worker considering how many points we have scored and he is almost never on the field. If our defense doesn't improve and Breese performs at less than the level of a machine we will definitely lose one of these games and I hope it's not in the playoffs. I know we have DB injury problems but DAMN! We better fix this before the playoffs.
to give them some credit the Defense has come up big when needed also the Saints offense had two times at the end of the game to score but didnt and the Defense came up big both times once Vilma with a INT then Vilma with a big hit to end the game so lets please give the defense some credit because it definitely could be worst. Also remember they are playing without their starters(some backups) and those that are playing are playing with injuries as well.Which they really dont have any good CBs healthy just patchwork and a rookie that couldnt cover in college so what makes someone think he can cover in the NFL just ask Lafell .Still need Brees to play turnover free games as well.
We were accustomed to getting "coverage sacks" before when our DBs were doing a great job (Greer and Porter) and now those sacks and that pressure isn't coming since the QB gets the ball out a lot sooner. Once we get Greer, Porter and Fujita back, you will see a relentless pressuring defense that causes bad passes, sacks and interceptions once again. Be patience. It doesn't matter now. We will be fine by the time the playoffs start.
