The last play of the game ended in Saints territory, but the Giants never started a drive on the Saints side of the 50. I can't remember the last time an NFL team did that. :thumb:
Not sure what you can't remember haven seen. A team not start on the opponent's side of the field on a drive? Well that happens all the time. Now if you're saying you haven't ever seen a team go an entire game without having a play start on the opponent's end of the field, I would say yes that is definitely an oddity.
That's what he's saying. Pretty good performance today but the Giants have been pretty bad the past several weeks. One more win til 1st round bye!
Saints will be 11th in the NFL in total defense after this weekend's play. They have a good shot at finishing 10th or better (10th place is Carolina, so we can overtake them with a good performance next Sunday). Keep underestimating our D. I don't mind.
This was clearly the best defensive effort the Saints made this year. I was especially pleased with the rushing defense. The Saints has been near the bottom of the polls in rushing defense before yesterday's game.
Pretty ironic we lose our best run defender and the Saints have their best day against the run against Tiki Barber, nonetheless. Just goes to show you when we lost Hollis Thomas to that suspension, Payton didn't cry about it, he told his troops to buck up and play that much harder. I think it was a blessing in disguise now. We are even more disciplined on defense and have really come together as a unit. Add Hollis Thomas back to the mix come playoff time and this could be a really good defense.
I think the defense is doing it with mirrors. Thank goodness for the dropped passes. I fear the accurate QB will pick us apart though.
